Robot Assisted Total Knee Replacement

Robotics have been around in orthopaedic surgery for some time, and there is good evidence that they provide the surgeon with added reassurance about the accuracy of the bony cuts required to perform total knee replacement. Accuracy of component placement is vital to the success of knee replacement, and robotics allows an already good technique to be further improved. I have had many years of experience with the use of patient specific instruments where a combination of MRI scanning and planning software allow a mould to be created that precisely fits the knee, allowing an accurate bony resection. Robotic assisted knee replacement with the ROSA system is the next step forward.

I am now in a position to perform this surgery at Fulwood Hall hospital for private patients, both insured and self pay. If you would like to discuss this then please contact my secretary, Val Matthews to book an appointment. A short video, explaining the procedure, can be found below.
